As a Patent Engineer Intern, you will

• Join a world-class team of Quantum experts with an extensive track record in both academia and industry.

• Work on problems linked to real world-wide customers across several industries.

• Collaborate closely with the founding team in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Support patent and IP-related activities at Multiverse.

• Maintain internal databases of inventions and patent/trademark portfolios.

• Identify and perform intake for locally-made inventions at Multiverse.

• Assist in drafting invention disclosures (ID) and reviewing technical documents.

• Collaborate with inventors in drafting patent applications.

• Perform initial patentability assessments and technology landscape analyses in the fields of artificial intelligence, quantum and quantum-inspired computing,

• Research specific patent portfolios in various databases.

• Take care of prosecution support and management of patent applications with partners and external patent attorney support.

As an IP Paralegal Intern, you will

• Maintain internal databases of inventions and patent/trademark portfolios.

• Support and management of patent and trademark applications with partners and external patent attorneys.

• Assist with docketing deadlines and maintaining IP records.

• Conduct legal and regulatory research related to intellectual property.

• Help prepare presentations and reports on IP strategy and portfolio management.

Required Qualifications

• Patent Engineer Track: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Quantum Physics, Computer Science, Life Sciences, or related fields.

• Paralegal Track: Law degree (LL.B., or equivalent), or currently enrolled in a legal
  studies/paralegal program with an interest in IP law.

• Excellent writing and analytical skills.

• Ability to work with a diverse team of people, both in-person and through online resources.

• Perfect command of English language

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with patent filing procedures, prosecution processes, and typical timelines.

• Experience in European and U.S. patent law and related intellectual property practices.
• Patent Engineer Track:

• Knowledge and experience with searching different patent databases.

• Understanding of required details for technical patent applications in industry.

• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with drafting technical patent
  applications.

• Technical experience with Quantum Computing, Artificial Intelligence and Machine
  Learning, or demonstrated capacity to quickly learn
